40th Annual Laingsburg Lions Club Springtime Festival!

This years Lions Festival chairpersons are Mike Foster, Nick Holtman, Lori Leonard, and Ed Carpenter

The Laingsburg Lions Club will hold our Springtime Festival over Memorial Day weekend, May 25-29th, 2023 in downtown Laingsburg, Mi.   Arnold Amusements will provide various rides along with your favorite food trailers such as Elephant Ears. Arnold Amusements plays an important role in our Annual Festival allowing the Lions club to raise money for various projects that benefit our town of Laingsburg.

In past years when the Festival was held early in the spring, typically over Mothers Day weekend, cold and rain always seemed to plague the carnival. With it now being held later in the Spring, weather is less likely to be detrimental to an extended weekend of fun and allow the Festival to be a even bigger hit! With the Chicken dinner behind us we can concentrate our efforts on other aspects of the carnival.

The official opening begins Thursday night at 5:00PM with games, carnival rides, and lots of great food! Bracelet rides are $25 this year and entitle you to ride all day long. Conclusion of the festival is signified when the drawing is held Monday afternoon at 3:00pm.

Friday's Introduction of the King and Queen and Parade Marshall(s) will take place at 6:15pm.

Details of the Springtime Festival can be found in the festival brochure images located lower in this web page.

The Arts and Craft show appears to be the largest ever with over 35 applications already received. Exhibit area is located in front of the Post Office and runs from Friday, 12:00noon thru Sunday - 6:00pm.

Ed Carpenter reports that Saturday's Parade participants will start lining up along Woodbury Rd at 10:00am with a parade starting time of 11:00am, rain or shine. Applications have already been sent out and are being received.

The Bicycle Contest will be held again this year with judging scheduled to begin at 10:15am-10:30am at the rear of the Baptist Church parking lot. There is no specific theme for this year's parade so decorate your bicycles as you see fit.

Laingsburg longtime residents Mike and Cindy Putmon have been selected as Parade Marshalls this year. The Laingsburg Fire, Rescue, Ambulance vehicles will lead off the parade followed by the American Legion Honor Guard. If you didn't or were late in submitting your parade application, you can still participate, please see the parade headquarters table at the side entrance to the Baptist Church.

Springtime Festival occurs during Memorial Day weekend! Post 248 American Legion Memorial Service will be held at the cemetary 11:00am - 12:00 noon.
